With Shrimp paste.
- 20 red Chillies or Lomboks.
- 2 teaspoons Salt.
- 1 teaspoon ground Trassi.
For the preparation see Sambal Ulek, adding the trassi at the same time as the salt.
Trassi is also know as Terasi, Belacan or Shrimp paste. Extreme strong smell which disappears during cooking. Essential ingredient in most Indonesian dishes. Available in blocks, which need to be sliced thinly and then toasted after which they can be ground up and used as instructed. Also available ready ground.
